Doesmatter is a graduate of the Durban University of Technology, and has over 20 years in senior management in the manufacturing and tobacco operations in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mauritius and Botswana.

He served as Managing Director of the Industrial Development Corporation of Zimbabwe (IDCZ) subsidiary Irazim Textiles and co-pioneered tobacco contract growing and marketing in Zimbabwe as Projects Director of the inaugural ARDA/GDI Tobacco Contract Scheme in 2004, Chairman of the Zimbabwe Textile Manufacturers Association (ZITMA), General Manager and Projects Director of Ethical Leaf Tobacco as well as Head of Operations at Niche Tobacco Company.
