Our FAQ answers common questions about our land prep service, tractor availability, tillage depth, ridging, and moisture conservation. Whether you want to learn how we schedule ploughing, what it costs, or how deep we rip, here are the answers.
We plough to the recommended depth for tobacco, avoid hardpans, and ridge on contour to hold moisture. We use well-maintained tractors and experienced operators who know Zimbabwe’s tobacco lands.
Yes. We plough along the contour, not up and down the slope. On steeper sections, we use tied ridging and leave grass strips to slow runoff. Our operators are trained to read the land and adjust passes so your topsoil stays put.
We agree on a planting window for your area, then book your ploughing date at least two weeks ahead. A day before, our operator calls to confirm. If rain delays us, we reschedule within 48 hours. You’re never left waiting and wondering.
Yes. You can book deep ripping alone to break a hardpan, or discing alone to finish a seedbed. Most growers take the full pack- plough, disc, ridge- because it’s cheaper per hectare and leaves your field transplant-ready. We’ll quote each service clearly before you commit.
We use tractors with the right weight-to-power ratio, never over-ballasted, and we avoid working wet soil. Our operators watch for wheel slip and adjust tyre pressures. After deep tillage, we recommend not driving on the field until transplanting, and we build that into your schedule.
